This spell forges a mystical link between the caster and one or more chosen willing subjects, allowing the caster to experience the world directly through their senses. While linked, the caster may see, hear, smell, and feel what the subject perceives.
To shift focus into a subject’s senses, the caster must use a magic action (1 tick).
The caster can maintain a number of linked subjects equal to one per caster level. Each creature must be touched at the moment of casting, or a new casting of Witness is required to add additional subjects.
The caster’s intellect governs how much sensory information can be processed automatically. The caster may designate up to INT ÷ 2 subjects as passive channels. For these chosen subjects, their sensory input is seamlessly integrated into the caster’s perception without requiring focus or concentration, as though the caster’s mind were naturally expanded to encompass them. For any additional linked subjects, the caster must consciously shift into their perspective.
If Witness is prepared and cast as an 8th-level spell, the link becomes permanent, lasting indefinitely unless dispelled. The caster may also choose unwilling subjects. These unwilling subjects will roll a Will Save to resist.
